I agree with Gnoomgus. Sadly blackmail is used in a really half-assed way most of the time (I'm looking at you Pint-Point). DEBT-scenarios are rarelly used, and it's a waste because I think is a perfect setup for a hot NTR with voyeur.
First of all I would say that I preffer when there is no blackmail. I preffer when the heroine is slowly gained by the Netori guy, taking advantage of her sexual frustration and curiosity about sex, fuelling her trust and sexual desire at the same time. A good example would be
喪失のMarried Life. However making that kind of story is not easy, as a result most unskilled artists will go with the blackmail to easier things up for them, but they use it WRONG most of the time,
blackmailing the Heroine in a bold way. There are some exeptions and some cases were that kind of blackmail works nicely, but in most cases the artist use it as an easy way to just go straight to the sex, and that's a waste becuase they skip one of the hottest things about a good NTR:
THE SEDUCTION. An example of this kind of blackmail would be the last Pint-Point game and its predessor Kedamono tachi. I want to add that the last Pint-Point wasn't that bad, but it definely wasn't good. I will write about it in another post some other day if I'm in the mood.
IMHO the best use of blackmail in a NTR story are: Either the Netori guy
blackmails the Heroine in a very subtle way or
blackmails the MC in a very bold way. So, how do these two other kinds of blackmails differ of
blackmaling the Heroine in a bold way?
When the Netori guy
blackmails the Heroine in a subtle way, rather than gives her a CHOICE, he gives her an EXCUSE. So instead of FORCING her to do something she doesn't want to do, he gives her a little PUSH to do something she wants to do deep down, but feels GUILTY about it. Of course to get to that point the Villain has to seduce her, so the Heroine will have feelings of desire for him, however weak these feelings might be. This kind of scenario is really HOT because the resistant of the heroine is proportional to the advances the Netori guy makes on her. For instance the Heroine wont agree to go out naked and has wild sex in the park in front of everyone as the first demand of the Netori guy, no matter how much she desires him (unless she is a total slut); however she might agree to give him a handjob, and little by little things will scalate from there. Of course it takes a skilled artists to do this, hence we don't have many good works in this form. A good example is the last Anim game
Tsuma no Niku Ana ni Homestay Suru Macho Ryuugakusei. In this game Daniel treatens Akie into using her daughter to release his sexual desire. However the Heroine wasn't really cornered, she had other choices, like telling her husband, calling the cops or kicking Daniel out of the house. Akie even states the first option, however dismiisses using a silly excuse (not to bother her husband that is already so busy with work). The game does a good job making it clear, in a subtle way, that Akie is using the "blackmal" as an excuse to acomplish her inner desires. The important thing in this kind of "blackmail" is that the heroine is not left without a choice, but rather she herself choose to disregard those other choices, her inner desires blinds her judgement, so the blackmail becomes an EXCUSE for her to submit to her inner desires withouth feeling guilty.
When the Netory guy
blackmails the MC in a bold way, he is actually blackmailing the whole familly and doesn't give them a choice. This works as normal blackmail but with a very important diference: The MC is fully aware of it. So the Netori guy doesn't have to hide the infidelity and can freely fuck the Heroine as much as he wants and when he wants. When done right this could allow to really HOT voyeur situations. The key point is that the MC fucked up things and as a consecuence he is left with no choice, that way he can't blame the Heroine, even when she is having sex with another guy, and the feelings of guilt go right back at him, because is his fault she is in this situation to begin with, in that way, even when the heroine falls completly for the other guy, it's easy to make it looks like it's the MC's fault and not hers (It's his fault they are in that situation, it's his fault he is not good at sex, the Heroine just did it to protect him, he is useless, she is better off with another guy that can actually protect her, etc.), thus the NTR hits harder. In this scenario the DEBT subjetc is the best way to go. I haven't found a good example of this kind of blackmail, probably because is not used often and when used, not really done right. A decent example, albeit short, would be the two-chapter manga
