Default 30/30/30/30 can get her, I recommend 250/30/200/30 for the chance at rare DD as well. She also drops in 1-1 and 1-2.

Some of the quests just aren't worth it are they? I end up spending more resources than what I gain from finishing the quest (e.g. Bw7)

Dailies are pretty much the only things I've ever done for the longest time.

The other quests I finish are either just for the sake of cleaning up my quests or bragging rights.

A bunch of the other quests are useful since they give certain equipment but those need quite a bit of work.

That was probably one of the quests I did on a whim since it was just 2-1.

Nothing Hiyou+Junyou couldn't handle themselves

I know that feeling, I wanted to finish 2-1 but never get to the boss node. I wasted 3000 of all resources and My Fubuki Kai had turned to Lv25 to 30 without even getting to the boss node

Common ship can be dropped in world 1 and 2 even BB and CV. I guess you don't need to focus to get a common ship. Use your early resources to level up the girls you have and you will see you have more new girls than construction. Oh yes, use your resources to develop some equipments like depth charge and sonar or planes.

You can find a lot of the ships you'd want around 2-1-A and if you can, there's 2-4-A where you can pick up most of the Kongou sisters

Personally, I never touched BBs and CVs until I hit 2-2 or 2-3 since my drop rate was horrendous and 2-4 was scary
Getting Akagi and the big ships was the start of my resources dropping so fast.
If you think you're low on resources, just doing the daily craft/construction should give you a good amount of resources to get you by for your expeditions.

I hear 1-5 is a good place to train your CL/DD/CVL if you don't have 3-2 but that requires ASW equipment which are SONARS and Depth Charges

Which reminds me...I should start hoarding buckets all over again. Random LSC
