But the thought that crossed my mind while reading the last part was that, things like irony ("") doesn't have a room with proper use of grammar at all. Colloquial use and grammar must be like arguing siblings. :x

Yea, I'm rather high level even though I'm one of the "youngest" TK that I know lurk in this forum. I've also completed one of the hardest to date event (Operation AL/MI that was a month ago) :P

You're welcome, Genki. It still feels like I wasn't able to fully explain the part with "just dropping by" but rather, it was the solution I came to accept because it's what would have sounded grammatically correct, if I were to read it as a piece of writing.

I can assure you, in 'proper grammar', it's perfectly fine to use double quotations, as long as you follow up with the correct use of punctuation.

Another note: In British English, the roles of the quotation marks are reversed; so double quotation for a quote within a quote, and single quotation for the initial quote. Depending on which you use, you should stick to it when writing (of course).

'How could you?!' he exclaimed, 'You said I was "the only one for you"...' British
"How could you?!" he exclaimed, "You said I was 'the only one for you'..." American

As far as I know, I'm the most successful TK that I know in this forum from the last event. That's probably because I'm the one who prepared the most for it due to I heard rumor of Shinano being released as a E-5 reward, except it turned out to be Unryuu instead :/
