Hi Leggy! How are you feeling? And how was the doctor's visit?

Feeling okay.

The doctor's visit... not bad, but not good news, either. I'll spoiler a somewhat graphic description of what's up.

Spoiler: Graphic - Not for the squeamish

It seems I have a major abscess on my lower abdomen; a hole in my gut about 1 cm in diameter. The big problem is, after over a week, it is still draining blood and infectious matter. Normally, these things would go away after a couple of days.

The doctor suspects it stems from an ingrown hair that became infected.

I'm on antibiotics, and treating it with a powerful skin cream normally used for burn patients.

The stress, occasional pain and regular blood loss is leaving me weak and lethargic.

I have another doctor's appointment Friday, to monitor progress.

Still, I'm confident that things will ultimately work out okay.

It hurts some when I move around.

Ironically, that's the body's way of removing it. Not a very good system IMO.

Fortunately, I do have friends I can contact when I need them.
