This is going to be the tournament that will usher a new era in Ōta, known as the Era of Fuchsia and Celadon, with a lot of young and exciting prospects coming out to shine in the court as they’re going to showcase their talents while celebrating the new era in their hometown. It will be awesome to watch out for this volume, so let the new era’s tournament begins with the first chapter of Volume 8! Enjoy reading Chapter 136!:)
The Fuchsia and Celadon Week continues with the fourth day of the festivity where the most interesting event will be the Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament where a lot of young and exciting prospects are going to showcase their talents in the court to shine themselves while celebrating the new era in Ōta, which is the Era of Fuchsia and Celadon. The Bravehearts have formed their own ‘Dream Team’ to participate at the tournament, known as the Rainbow Angels, to be led by Subaru Hasegawa, the creator of that team, and Tomoka Minato. Aside from the Rainbow Angels, the Homewrecking Dragons, the Azure Wind, the Temperate Celadon, the Prestigious Wind Ōta, the Radiant Fuchsia and Team Purple will be participating to represent the Bravehearts organization. Michiko Takeda would let her varsity team in Kirihara to participate at that tournament, calling her team as Kirihara-Team Takeda. Two strongest teams in eastern Ōta will also compete in that competition, which are the South Bay Ōta and the Winds of Den-en-chōfu. Ryuuichi Suga would also participate at the Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament by representing his own team from his hometown in Magome while letting his cousin Nana Yotsuya and her friend Mayumi Odaka to field their own team, so that they’ll participate as well. The Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament is now stacked with a lot of young and promising basketball players around Ōta and this would be the first stage for them become future superstars in the country. The Rainbow Angels will be grouping in Group A since they were the hosts and they’ll battle against their first opponents, the Winds of Den-en-chōfu and the Nagamoto Flames.
The first part of Volume 8 is focused on the continuation of the Fuchsia and Celadon Week including the Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament, the first anniversary concert of Lien de Famille and the two-day vacation in Nagoya.
It is May 1, the fourth day of the Fuchsia and Celadon Week. The events for that day includes Act Like a Star, the sporting tournaments for beach volleyball and badminton, Mount Fuji Emblem Making Contest and the birthday celebration of one of the members of Ongaku Shoujo, Sarasa Ryuō, but the most important event for that day will be the Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament.
Subaru narrates the beginning of introduction of the chapter as the sun rises above the sea reflecting with each other. “The Fuchsia and Celadon Week had reached its fourth day and it will be focused on active participation and leisure. The events for music, arts and sports represent ‘mind’ as everyone is ready to show their prowess, strength and harmony. Of course, we don’t want to forget the Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament.”
Aoi would be next to narrate the introduction. “That’s right, Subaru. It’s about time for us to show our pride, courage and willpower as the Rainbow Angels will participate at the Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament. The tournament will be composed of at least 20 teams in the eliminations where the top 2 teams for each group and the four best third-placed teams will make it to the knockout tournament.”
Tomoka would continue to narrate the introduction. “We’re confident that we’re going to win this tournament because we’re always determined to be blessed through our heart. The big thing about this tournament is that we’re going to witness some other teams they’ll be competing. This includes our friends, the Temperate Celadon, the Azure Wind, the Radiant Fuchsia, Team Purple, the Homewrecking Dragons, the Prestigious Wind Ōta and Team Takeda.”
Mimi follows up to reiterate about what Tomoka said. “Also, we’re going to see the Black Dragons of Ōta, the South Bay Ōta, the Winds of Den-en-chōfu, the Guardians of Yaguchi and the Magome Elites-Team Suga. This tournament will be the beginning of a new era in Ōta with young and potential players will ready to flourish their careers through their willpower.”
Megumi would be the last person to narrate the introduction while the scene changes to the view of the Recreational Center. “Today is the elimination round and we’re ready to show our pride, courage and willpower to defeat three opponents before heading to the knockout round. We’re all excited for tournament and hopefully, we’ll win the tournament for sure!”
“Yeah!” said Subaru, Aoi, Tomoka and Mimi.
Then, the scene would change again to the members of the Rainbow Angels. Subaru, Aoi, Tomoka, Mimi and Megumi shout together to end the introduction. “Let’s rise together as one family of bravehearts and angels!”
The new volume begins as Masayoshi Sawatari and Sakiko Aizawa are standing before the participants of the Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament in the podium.
Masayoshi Sawatari would begin his speech as he is welcomed by the organizers of the tournament. “Greetings, participants! As the new era began in our hometown, we, the organizers of the Fuchsia and Celadon Week, have organized this tournament to bring new hopes for the young and potential players who are aspired to be the best in Ōta and eventually, in Tokyo. With 24 participants competing in both boys’ and girls’ tournament, the Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament will be a tournament that will mark a new era in the history of basketball in Ōta and hopefully, everyone will be able to compete well. The first day of the tournament will be the elimination round where the top 2 teams for each group and the 4 best third-placed teams will advance to the knockout round to be held on the second day tomorrow. This tournament is recognized by the Ōta League a minor tournament, which means this is not a qualifier to the Ōta League. This benefits everyone to be prepared for future competitions to be held in our hometown such as the middle school prefectural tournaments and the Interhigh prefectural tournaments. I hope that at the end of the tournament, we’ll officially crown the winners after two days of battling for mind, hustle and strength. Good luck, everyone, and may the best team win!”
Everyone in the Recreational Center claps their hands to give Masayoshi a standing ovation before Masayoshi leaves the stage. The participants of the Ōmori Invitationals are finally ready to take on the court for their first match of the elimination round.
Outside of the Recreational Center, the Rainbow Angels are present as they look at the tournament schedule folder, which was held by Jirō and Jun.
“Everyone! As Masayoshi said in the opening speech earlier, everyone must step in to make sure that we’re ready for our first match of the tournament” said Jun.
“As for the first set of matches, it will be held from 9:00 to 12:00 in the morning at the respective venues in the Outdoor Basketball Courts, which is located beside the Recreational Center” said Jirō.
“I’m sure that you’re all hyped for this, everyone!” said Jun.
“Yeah!” said the members of the Rainbow Angels.
“I believe that our expectations will be high, Jirō and Jun. As one of the participants that represented the Bravehearts, we’ll be confident to roll in to the knockout round” said Tomoka.
“Yeah, Tomoka! We have the higher odds to win the tournament, but I’m not worrying about the others too” said Jun.
“Absolutely true, Jun. With us in Group A, I think that the easy match-up would be a piece of cake for us” said Subaru.
“Yeah. Now, on to the schedule of games for the first match” said Jirō. Jirō looks at the schedule before reading it. “Now, the first match will be held at the Basketball Court #1. By the way, all matches in Group A will take place in that court.”
“So, we should be stay there only when our match is scheduled. I believe that we’ll have an early lunch for us before the second match to be held in the afternoon” said Jun.
“Yeah, Jun” said Jirō.
“So, what are the first set of matches?” asked Aoi.
“Good question, Aoi-san” said Jun before calling Jirō. “Jirō-san.”
Jirō nods quickly. “Okay. Now, the first set of matches are the following. For the boys, we have us facing off against the Winds of Den-en-chōfu while the other is the Black Tigers of Kamata versus the South Bay Ōta.”
“When it comes to the Winds of Den-en-chōfu, they’re going ‘on the fly’ with their special moves that are related to the wind” said Banri.
“It seems that they’re youngsters with their brave strategy. I’m sure that we can take it down easily” said Subaru.
“Yeah, we could” said Jirō.
“On the other hand, the South Bay Ōta are also a young team composed of players who didn’t make it to the varsity. That would be our next opponent right after this one” said Shinsuke Nagamoto.
“Of course, Shinsuke! We’re aiming at the knockout round with two consecutive wins. So, no matter what will happen on this day, it’ll be our day to rise!” said Kazunari.
“You got that right, Kazunari!” said Shinsuke.
“And then, for the girls, we’ll battle against the Nagamoto Flames while the other pair will be our fellow allies Radiant Fuchsia against the Katsura Swordswomen” said Jun.
“Oh! You didn’t say that my sister will be leading her team?” said Kotori.
“Yeah, Kotori-san” said Jun.
“Well, despite I’m not playing for this team, just to help you, Jun, I’m having a feeling that they’re good in defense” said Kotori.
“I’m sure that these girls are hard-knocked players that can screen their opponents greatly. I hope that Sayaka had to be brave to stop them” said Tomoka.
“Well, I hope so, Tomoka. Sayaka is much determined when it comes to be a leader. She knows what her team will do just like us” said Mimi.
“Of course, Mimi! We don’t want to worry about this now and we should be ready for our first match!” said Megumi.
“Yeah!” said the girls of the Rainbow Angels.
“We should be going to the Court #1 for our first match. So, let’s go!” said Jun.
“Yeah!” said the members of the Rainbow Angels as they’re heading to the Outdoor Basketball Court #1 to prepare themselves for their first match.
At the Basketball Court #1, the Rainbow Angels are sitting in the bench while Jirō Koganei is preparing to use his playbook for the strategies he’ll be using. The boys remove their warmup uniforms before revealing their uniform jerseys.
“Wow! This shirt is so nice!” said Yoshitsugu Tsuchiya.
“Yeah, it’s so shiny and glimmering!” said Masanobu Uehara.
“I can say that we’re going to rock this uniform with our own run!” said Kōichi Aoyama.
“Yep. Only the brave teams can have that due to their confidence and adaptability” said Kazunari.
“I guess that we should get into the road, boys! Let’s have a luck to win this game!” said Subaru.
“You got it!” said the boys of the Rainbow Angels.
The boys of the Rainbow Angels would do their team chant before stepping in to the court. “One, two, three… rise together, Rainbow Angels!” The boys of the Rainbow Angels are finally making their way to the center circle to meet with their first opponents, the Winds of Den-en-chōfu.
The girls of the Rainbow Angels are cheering for the boys of the Rainbow Angels at the bench of their team.
“Good luck, boys!” said Aoi.
“Win with your heart!” said Tomoka.
“Show your opponents what the real willpower is!” said Mimi.
“Bring them on with your strength!” said Megumi.
The match officials are giving Kōsuke Makino, a friend of Ichirō Fujio and a member of the Sunburst Co., an ok sign to start the match. Then, Kōsuke Makino would shout within his lungs. “Let’s start the match between the Rainbow Angels and the Winds of Den-en-chōfu! Bow!”
The starting five of the Rainbow Angels and the Winds of Den-en-chōfu bow together before Kōsuke. “Let’s have a good game!”
Kōsuke would easily releases the ball high before Kōichi Aoyama tips the ball and the ball would be landed on the hands of Kazunari Uehara as the first match between the Rainbow Angels and the Winds of Den-en-chōfu begins.
Kazunari dribbles the ball before passing the ball to Yoshitsugu. Yoshitsugu drives past Haruki before heading to the paint. Then, Yoshitsugu passes the ball to Subaru in the corner, Subaru would shoot the ball with the jump shot and the ball drives to the basket to score his team’s first two points of the game.
“Nice shot, Subaru! You made the first basket of the game!” said Kazunari.
“Yeah! I’m feeling happy that we’re starting game with my shot” said Subaru.
“I think that we’re expected to have a long run. So, let’s make it happen” said Kazunari.
“You got it!” said Subaru.
The Rainbow Angels switch their focus to defense where Tomoyuki is guarded by Masanobu Uehara. Masanobu tries to make Tomoyuki’s shot miss and it was almost successful when Tomoyuki escapes from him to shoot the fadeaway shot, but Tomoyuki’s shot can’t go in to the basket.
“I’ll get that rebound!” said Kōichi as he was able to get the ball for the rebound. Kōichi passes the ball to Kazunari before the boys of the Rainbow Angels would rally up. Kazunari passes the ball to Yoshitsugu, who would shoot the ball with the finger roll and his shot was good to go.
“We’re up by four, boys! I’m sure that we’re going great with that run-and-gun system!” said Kazunari.
“I agree! We need to get more shots to go in!” said Subaru.
“Yeah!” said Kazunari.
After another missed shot by Tomoyuki, Kazunari would use the acceleration drive to drive past Shigeru before shooting the ball with the layup to score another two points for the Rainbow Angels. Later, the montage shows the Rainbow Angels gone fast-paced with their offense get better with successive shots going in.
As the game reaches the end of the first half, the Rainbow Angels holds their last possession as Subaru is battling against Shigeru. Shigeru tries his best to stop Subaru, but Subaru was able to step back before driving past Shigeru with the Redgate Ignition and passing the ball to Kōichi for the alley-oop dunk. The first half ends with a commanding lead by the Rainbow Angels.
Kōsuke Makino announces the results of the game after the end of the first half. “End of first half. Rainbow Angels 38, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 20.”
The boys of the Rainbow Angels would go back to the bench to take a ten-minute interval. Jirō was happy to see his team getting their lead early.
“Great job, boys! You did a great job in keeping the lead after the first quarter. Despite we score 14 points in the second quarter, you guys were able to handle them with a low score” said Jirō.
“Yeah, we did, Jirō-kun. Those guys aren’t able to score more than 10 points in the second quarter after we were able to put our defense better” said Subaru.
“We score 14 points while our opponents score 5 points. That might be a low record to me” said Kazunari.
“Yep. Their opponents committed fouls while we miss shots due to our stamina getting low” said Yoshitsugu.
“I see. Well, I must fix that away, Yoshitsugu. The reserves can really need to step in the game” said Jirō.
“I think that you’re about this, Jirō. I’m sure that we need Junichi and Mito to score more points while the starters rest for the entire third quarter” said Banri.
“That way, the starters will be back in action for the fourth quarter” said Katsuhito Aoyagi.
“Great observation, Banri! I’m glad that you were able to know their energy when the starters are exhausting” said Jirō.
Banri was surprised when Jirō said that the former knows everything about his team’s energy. “Uh, thanks. It doesn’t mean that the starters will get their rest, but I will make sure that the bench needs more scoring output.”
“I agree!” said Jirō.
“Then, we should be ready for that, Jirō-kun!” said Mito.
“Because we’re ready to roll!” said Junichi.
“Yeah!” said the other boys of the Rainbow Angels.
Jirō smiles to the bench members of the Rainbow Angels boys’ team before saying to them. “Well, I would be damned, boys. Now, get into the gear!”
“Okay!” said the other boys of the Rainbow Angels.
While Junichi Kamisaka, Kōsuke Minagawa, Dairoku Kaji, Mito Azaki, and Jūbei Koga are preparing to step up in the third quarter, Subaru and the other starters would be given water bottles from Shinsuke.
“Drink up, boys!” said Shinsuke.
“Okay!” said Subaru, Kazunari, Yoshitsugu, Masanobu and Kōichi as they drink their water from their water bottles before sighing in relief.
“Ah! It’s refreshing” said Subaru.
“I’m feeling good” said Yoshitsugu.
“That water feels great for my energy to restore” said Kazunari.
Shinsuke smiles to the starters of the Rainbow Angels. “You guys are going to be great to get back in the bench soon. Now get some rest.”
“Okay!” said Subaru, Kazunari, Yoshitsugu, Masanobu and Kōichi.
In the third quarter, Junichi, Kōsuke, Dairoku, Mito and Jūbei would start running together in the court by showing their moves to their opponents. Junichi passes the ball to Dairoku after driving past Hiroya Takahashi and then, Dairoku shoots the ball with the one-handed dunk over Masaya Ono. Then, Mito shoots the three-point shot over the face of Akinori Matsuo while Jūbei puts the screen on Naomichi Nikaidō, allowing Kōsuke to score with the layup. Then, Junichi banks the fadeaway shot after crossing over Hiroya.
As the game continues with two minutes remaining before the end of the third quarter, Dairoku grabs the ball for the rebound after Naomichi missed the jump shot.
“Junichi!” said Dairoku as he passes the ball to Junichi with the bounce pass.
Junichi grabs the ball with his left hand before battling against Hiroya.
“I’m not done yet, Junichi! Your run is about run out!” said Hiroya as he tries to steal the ball with his chilling sigh. Junichi sways the ball before creating his own aura.
“Hey! Is that what I think it is?” asked Subaru.
“Yeah, it’s the aura. I think that it’s their time to use their Complete Synchronization Skill” said Kazunari.
“Well, I’m glad that we’ll have more strength to use for the final quarter, Kazunari. It’s getting better and better to have that” said Subaru.
“Yeah!” said Kazunari.
Junichi would activate the Complete Synchronization Skill before doing the behind the back move to drive past Hiroya and shoots the ball with the Bloom Layup.
“Wow! That move was so good!” said Megumi.
“Yeah! It’s about time to see Junichi working on his way to be a strong shooter inside the zone” said Tomoka.
“I’m so happy that Junichi had finally brought his own synchronization after helping his teammates to dominate the game” said Anzu.
“I hope that he’ll give more blessings to his teammates when he’s leading the team” said Kazue Ōgaki.
“Yeah!” said Tomoka, Megumi and Anzu.
At the court, Junichi was given a high five by Kōsuke.
“I’m so proud of you, Junichi! Now, you have a new move for you to be grooving!” said Kōsuke.
“Thanks, Kōsuke! My Bloom Layup is getting powered up after I finally have the aura on my hands. It looks like we’re going to make easy stops against them” said Junichi.
“Yeah, that’s true. I guess that we should give it a try” said Kōsuke.
“You bet!” said Junichi.
One of the members of the Winds of Den-en-chōfu named Atsutaka Sakano would battle against Jūbei. When Atsutaka uses the between the legs move on Jūbei before putting his pressure on him, Atsutaka passes the ball to Naomichi, but Naomichi was double teamed by Mito and Dairoku.
“Darn it! They’re cornered!” said Hiroya.
“Bet you see that we’re going to stop you, Naomichi!” said Mito.
“Oh, yeah? How about this?!” said Naomichi as he performs the crossover move to step away from both Mito and Dairoku before passing the ball to Daisuke Ishizuka, but Junichi tips the ball and Dairoku grabs the ball.
“Crap! We lost our possession!” said Naomichi.
“Told ya that we’re running together as our starters did earlier!” said Dairoku before passing the ball to Mito. Mito would use the Silver Camellia Shot, a converted fadeaway shot, and the ball drives to the basket. The scoreboard is displayed as the score is now 58 to 34, in favor of the Rainbow Angels with 1:02 remaining.
“We should get more direction, boys!” said Junichi.
“Let’s finish this quarter with our domination!” said Mito.
“Yeah!” said Kōsuke, Dairoku and Jūbei.
After Naomichi converts the open three-point shot after the pass by Hiroya, Kōsuke focuses on battling Naomichi in the post. Then, Kōsuke was able to stop Naomichi by using his own moves before stepping back to shoot the ball with the Crescent Seed, a fadeaway shot, and the ball drives to the basket.
Akinori tries his best to score back with his own move and he makes it when he was able to drive past Mito with the acceleration drive before doing the clutch shot. Before the time expires, Mito was able to get the last laugh before performing the behind the back move on Akinori and then, passes the ball to Junichi, who would score the last shot with the Bloom Layup.
The whistle was blown and Kōsuke announces the result of the match. “End of third quarter. Rainbow Angels 62, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 39.”
Then, the game reaches the fourth and final quarter where Akinori banks two straight three-point shots to trim the Rainbow Angels’ lead to 17. Junichi was able to shoot the ball with the Dazzling Circle Shot, a finger roll move, with his acceleration going up. Junichi was able to let Hiroya’s shot miss before Jūbei gets the ball for the rebound.
As Dairoku gets the ball from Jūbei, Dairoku speaks to Junichi. “Do you think Subaru and his team will continue to use our Complete Synchronization Skill?”
“Maybe, if we can transition this to them and then, they’ll be able to power up their moves” said Junichi.
“Oh, I guess that Subaru and his boys will be ready to finish it out” said Dairoku.
“Yeah!” said Junichi as he gets the ball from Dairoku before driving past Hiroya with the Azure Dragon Illusion Drive and then, passes the ball to Jūbei, who would score with the Dynamic Clutch Dunk.
Then, the whistle was called as Kōsuke called the timeout for the Winds of Den-en-chōfu. “Timeout, Winds of Den-en-chōfu!” The scoreboard displays the score of the match with 8:07 remaining in the game as the score is now Rainbow Angels 66, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 45.
When the timeout starts, Jirō would talk to the boys of the Rainbow Angels. “Good news, boys! The starters are cleared to play for the final eight minutes of the game! So, let’s make sure that we’ll finish this game with the win!”
“Yeah, you got it!” said the boys of the Rainbow Angels.
“With Junichi’s own version of the Complete Synchronization Skill will be transitioned to Subaru’s own CSS, this will allow the starters to power up their moves, so that they’ll get easy scoring outputs against the Winds of Den-en-chōfu” said Banri.
“Okay, Banri! We got this one!” said Subaru.
“Yeah!” said Kazunari, Yoshitsugu, Masanobu and Kōichi.
“If we rise together, then we’ll be blessed for our friends! So, let’s get that win, boys!” said Jirō.
“Yeah!” said the boys of the Rainbow Angels.
The starters of the Rainbow Angels and the Winds of Den-en-chōfu would return to the court to play for the rest of the game. Subaru and Kazunari are thrilled to have their Complete Synchronization Skill set.
“Since our Brave Rainbow Strategy is now set, thanks to Junichi’s aura being powered up earlier, we can make some moves” said Kazunari.
“You bet! Now, let’s get grooving!” said Subaru.
“Oh, yeah!” said Kazunari.
The game continues with the starters of both Rainbow Angels and Winds of Den-en-chōfu squaring off against each other. Subaru calls his teammate to activate the Redgate Formation.
Rainbow Angels: Subaru Hasegawa (PG), Kazunari Uehara (SG), Yoshitsugu Tsuchiya (SF), Masanobu Uehara (PF), Kōichi Aoyama (C)
Winds of Den-en-chōfu: Tomoya Takagi (PG), Shigeru Natsuka (SG), Haruki Sugimori (SF), Tomoyuki Yamada (PF), Akinobe Tanonaka (C)
“I’m going to destroy you!” said Haruki.
“No, Haruki. My team is here to annihilate you!” said Yoshitsugu.
“Oh, yeah. Let’s see if you prove it!” said Haruki.
“Okay! Here I come!” said Yoshitsugu as he and Haruki clash with each other, trying to see who has the better strength of them. Haruki goes for the step back move before trying to drive past Yoshitsugu, but Yoshitsugu prevents it.
From the audience, Ayame and Miho are cheering for their classmate Yoshitsugu with their fighting spirit.
“Alright! You can do it, Yoshitsugu!” said Ayame Isurugi.
“Slash him out!” said Miho Mizuno.
Yoshitsugu successfully makes Haruki’s shot miss before getting the rebound. Yoshitsugu, with his strength going up, passes the ball to Kōichi with the lance pass. “Pass, Kōichi!”
Kōichi manages to grab the ball before running through the other side of the court. Kōichi would battle against Akinobe before getting fouled by Akinobe when Kōichi tries to shoot the ball with the Mountain Climber Clutch. Thankfully, Kōichi’s shot was counted and he must shoot one free throw.
“Well, what do you know? He converted an and one on his opponent” said Katsuhito.
“Yeah, that was an expected move for him. I’m sure that he’s using his size to pull up a good shot over his opponent” said Ryōta Mikawa.
“I’m glad that Kōichi made some of his improvements from shooting the ball in the paint” said Masanobu Yamada.
“Defnitely love to see that move, Katsuhito! He’s about to go on fire now!” said Yūki Sasaki.
“Yeah!” said Katsuhito while Ryōta and Masanobu Yamada nod on their faces.
Kōichi successfully makes the free throw with the scoreboard being displayed. [Rainbow Angels 69, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 45]
Then, Shigeru battles against Kazunari in the free throw line where Kazunari is observing Shigeru’s moves. Shigeru tries to stop Kazunari by doing the crossover moves, but Kazunari detects it with his eyes to counter it with his own moves. Shigeru forcefully misses the jump shot before Kōichi gets the rebound.
“Get it back, boys!” said Shigeru.
“Okay!” said Tomoyuki and Akinobe as they’re trying to corner Kōichi, but Kōichi passes the ball to Masanobu Uehara with the over the head pass. Then, Masanobu finds Kazunari in the post before passing the ball to him.
Shigeru Natsuka was able to save himself by tipping the ball to steal the ball. “I’ll take that, you bastard!”
“Aw, man! He got that ball!” said Jirō, who is not happy about that move.
Shigeru would pass the ball to Haruki before going to drive past Yoshitsugu. However, Haruki was stopped by Masanobu Uehara. Haruki tries to shoot the ball with the fadeaway shot, but Masanobu Uehara blocks the shot with the Wild Boar’s Stomp.
“Not on my house, Haruki!” said Masanobu Uehara as the ball was released from the block before it goes to the line of out of bounds.
Kōsuke blows his whistle to call for the out of bounds. “Out of bounds. Dark uniform ball.”
Although his opponents still get the possession, Subaru calls his teammates to go for counterattack. “Boys! Let’s make sure that we’ll get that ball!”
“Okay!” said Kazunari, Yoshitsugu, Masanobu and Kōichi.
The game continues with Shigeru grabbing the ball from Haruki before being confronted by Kazunari.
“I’m sure that you’re not gonna stand a chance against me!” said Shigeru.
“No, I won’t, Shigeru!” said Kazunari as he shows his motivation to take a stand against Shigeru.
Shigeru gasps after hearing Kazunari’s answer, but then, he is putting his pressure to stop him. “Hmph! It doesn’t matter, I’m going to destroy you!” Shigeru would drive past Kazunari with his special move, the Rapid Omnibus, before going for the layup.
“You can’t have that one!” said Masanobu Uehara as he once again blocks his opponent’s shot, this time on Shigeru.
“Oh no! You gotta be kidding me?!” said Shigeru, who is gasping in horror.
Yoshitsugu grabs the ball for the rebound before passing the ball to Kōichi. Kōichi would battle against Akinobe with his strength before passing it to Subaru. Subaru would go for the crossover move on Tomoya and then, performs the Redagte Ignition to drive past Tomoya.
“He’s going for the Phantom Shot!” said Aoi.
“Yeah, it’s about time, Aoi!” said Tomoka.
But before Subaru tries to shoot the ball with the Phantom Shot, Shigeru blocks the Subaru’s shot with the Spear Black. “Oh no, you don’t!”
The members of the Rainbow Angels gasp in horror before the ball was going out of bounds. Kōsuke would blow his whistle again to call for the out of bounds. “Out of bounds. Light uniform ball.”
“There’s no way you can interfere our Redgate Formation, Shigeru” said Subaru as he is saying to Shigeru directly.
“What?!” surprisingly said Shigeru.
“I don’t want to lose my synchronization because I’m here to raise my team” said Subaru.
“Why, you bastard!” said Shigeru as he’s growling angrily.
The game continues with Yoshitsugu passes the ball to Subaru before doing to drive past Tomoya before going on with the Phantom Shot and it goes in. [Rainbow Angels 71, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 45]
“Yes! Our ball movement is back, boys!” said Subaru.
“Well, that’s great, Subaru! Now, you were able to prove who the better shooter is” said Masanobu Uehara.
“Despite the first shot was missed, looks like your second shot was going in” said Kazunari.
“I’m confident to have second chance points, Kazunari, but with our commanding lead, we might be going to end this game with the blowout” said Subaru.
“I believe so, Subaru” said Kazunari.
“Well, we might be going to do that” said Yoshitsugu.
“Then, we’re running in to make this game a blowout!” said Subaru.
“Yeah!” said Kazunari, Yoshitsugu, Masanobu Uehara and Kōichi. Then, Masanobu Uehara adds his words to complete his sentence. “You got it!”
The boys of the Rainbow Angels would go on fire after a short struggle, but the Winds of Den-en-chōfu can’t give up, despite losing the game. When Haruki passes the ball to Shigeru for the latter to shoot the jump shot, Subaru passes the ball to Kazunari and Kazunari sinks the Moondrift Star. Then, Tomoya counters it with the three-point shot and Masanobu Uehara gives his strength more uplifting to perform the Gleaming Hook, a variant of a hook shot. The boys of the Rainbow Angels would continue to rally the game after Tomoyuki misses the forced jump shot.
“Subaru! Catch!” said Kōichi as he passes the ball to Subaru with the bounce pass before Subaru would drive past Tomoya with the Redgate Ignition.
“Now, it’s time to make our run rolling” said Subaru as he passes the ball to Masanobu Uehara, who would go for the alley-oop dunk. [Rainbow Angels 85, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 50]
“With five minutes left in the game, we should keep handling our opponents to score less” said Kazunari.
“Yep. It’s getting crazy that we’re turning things around to score more points. I’m sure that we’ll be able to bag our first win in the tournament” said Subaru.
“I agree!” said Kazunari.
Yoshitsugu shouts at Subaru and Kazunari. “Now, here comes their force!” The members of the Winds of Den-en-chōfu are now using its resiliency, so that they’ll not lose their strength.
“Then, it’s time for us to show who the better team is!” said Subaru.
“Alright!” said Kazunari.
Yoshitsugu was able to guard Haruki before Haruki scrapes past Yoshitsugu with the acceleration drive. Haruki passes the ball to Tomoyuki before Masanobu Uehara stops Tomoyuki from getting the shots.
“Huh? What do you think? Do I look stronger?” asked Masanobu Uehara.
Tomoyuki was confused after he was guarded by Masanobu Uehara. “I don’t care if you’re trying to stop me. Then, take this!” Tomoyuki would shoot the ball with the clutch shot, but it misses when Masanobu Uehara blocks it.
“You’re not gonna have it, Tomoyuki!” said Masanobu Uehara as his strength was stronger.
The ball land on the hands of Yoshitsugu before passing to Kōichi. Kōichi would dazzle in to drive past Akinobe before shooting the ball with the Mountain Climber Clutch and it goes in. [Rainbow Angels 87, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 50]
Tomoya would battle against Subaru where they’re using their strength. Tomoya would find Shigeru open and step back to pass the ball to Shigeru. Shigeru would shoot the ball with the Nimbus Meteorite Three-Point Shot and the ball drives to the basket. [Rainbow Angels 87, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 53]
“Yes! I made it!” said Shigeru.
“Well, you’re not giving up yet, Shigeru-kun” said Subaru.
“Yep. I want to prove myself that I’m worthy to dazzle my shots” said Shigeru.
“Then, I’ll say that I’m better than you” said Subaru.
“Heh… we’ll see about that!” said Shigeru.
“Okay, I will!” said Subaru.
Subaru would battle against Tomoya before Subaru uses the Redgate Ignition to drive past Tomoya. Subaru would be stopped by Shigeru.
“Let’s see if you are better than me!” said Shigeru.
“Okay, you got it!” said Subaru. Subaru would use the between the legs move on Shigeru before Shigeru tries to make Subaru commit a turnover. Subaru would step back before he’s powering up with his strength.
“What is this, Subaru?!” said Shigeru.
“So, you don’t know what’s going on, Shigeru? Then, I’ll say my answer!” said Subaru as he shoots the ball with the Phantom Shot and the ball drives to the basket. [Rainbow Angels 89, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 53]
“Subaru had used the Phantom Shot while charging up with his ability move” said Junichi Morizawa.
“Yeah, I believe that his ability is all about charging up while using his acceleration and haste. That ability was called the Redforce Succession. It is where an aura can emit on Subaru’s body before he would take the special moves that he used after doing a set of successive dribble moves against his opponent” said Junichi Kamisaka.
“When it comes to his determination, Subaru had to deal with his ‘person to keep an eye with’ if his opponent is matching his potential on him” said Mito.
“Damn. I believe that Subaru had worked on that move since the training, but I’m thrilled to look at his aura. His red aura seemed to be glimmering” said Katsuya Kameda.
“I agree! There are times that Subaru faced challenges like this, starting from his years in elementary school, but now, he knows about anything on his opponents and aims to defeat them” said Junichi Kamisaka.
“As the leader of the Bravehearts, he’s now ready to prove to his opponents that he’s the Braveheart Sensation himself!” said Junichi Morizawa.
“I agree!” said Mito, Katsuya and Junichi Kamisaka.
When Subaru was able to contaminate the strength of Shigeru by forcing the latter miss the shot, Yoshitsugu grabs the rebound before passing the ball to Kazunari. Kazunari performs the crossover move on Tomoya before successfully making the euro step version of the Moondrift Floater. [Rainbow Angels 91, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 53]
The boys of the Rainbow Angels would continue to guard their opponents while forcing them to miss the shots. Subaru and Kazunari were able to score points while getting assists for their passes to their opponents. During the closing minute of the game, after Shigeru missed the three-point shot, Subaru grabs the rebound and passes the ball to Kōichi. “Kōichi-kun!”
Kōichi would perform the behind the back move on Akinobe before passing the ball to Kazunari with the bounce pass. Kazunari was able to overcome the double team by doing the crossover move on both Shigeru and Haruki before passing the ball to Masanobu Uehara, who would go for the Gleaming Hook and his shot was good. [Rainbow Angels 104, Winds of Den-en-chōfu 62]
“That will end the game, boys! We’re getting our first win of the game!” said Subaru.
“Yay!” said Kazunari, Yoshitsugu, Masanobu Uehara and Kōichi.
With a half of a minute to end the game, the members of the Rainbow Angels were able to hold off the offense of the Winds of Den-en-chōfu. Kazunari forces Tomoya to miss the jump shot while Subaru was able to use his strength by grabbing the rebound after Tomoyuki missed the fadeaway shot. Then, the whistle was blown by Kōsuke as he is announcing the end of the match.
“Game over! The Rainbow Angels wins the match!” said Kōsuke before the scene was changing into the scoreboard where the Rainbow Angels defeated the Winds of Den-en-chōfu in a 104-62 blowout.
“Alright, boys! Like I said earlier, we blow out the Winds of Den-en-chōfu!” said Subaru.
“Yeah! We did a great job in stopping those guys from doing ‘on the fly’ shots and it’s awesome that all of us have performed well” said Kazunari.
“Great to have our first win in the tournament” said Kōichi.
“You bet, Kōichi! Now, we’ll see if Tomoka and her team will shine in their game too!” said Subaru.
“Yeah!” said Kazunari, Yoshitsugu, Masanobu Uehara and Kōichi.
After shouting “Thank you very much!” to Kōsuke, the starters of the Rainbow Angels and the Winds of Den-en-chōfu shake each other’s hands as a sign of sportsmanship for both teams.
“Great game, Subaru!” said Shigeru.
“Thanks! I’m happy about the fact that my team worked very well” said Subaru.
“Yeah, I was amazed about what you have used your special move to drive me out. Well, I should try my best to learn that move’ said Shigeru.
“Of course, Shigeru! Everyone knows that a strong player can learn a new move through their heart. So, you have to remember that” said Subaru.
“Okay!” said Shigeru.
Subaru smiles to Shigeru, who impressed the former after his team lost, before calling his teammates. “Boys! We should take a break for a while and then, later, we’ll watch the match between Tomoka and her team facing off against the Nagamoto Flames.”
“Yeah!” said the boys of the Rainbow Angels. Subaru and his boys are delighted with their first win in the Fuchsia and Celadon Dragons Tournament. It looks like they’re ready to bring their aura coming out later for their next game against the South Bay Ōta. The next match for the Rainbow Angels will be the girls’ team facing off against the Nagamoto Flames.

VOLUME 8: “A NEW ANGELIC AND HARMONIOUS ERA IN ŌTA”
CHAPTER 136: “RISE TOGETHER, RAINBOW ANGELS! (PART 1)”
VOLUME 8: “A NEW ANGELIC AND HARMONIOUS ERA IN ŌTA”
CHAPTER 136: “RISE TOGETHER, RAINBOW ANGELS! (PART 1)”
Part 2 will be on the next post.
