And well, to be honest; Germany how we it now know (united), exists actually since so 140 years so: Before was under a lot lords/kings shared, where then the German language in a lot directions gone are. - Short said: A really one language given never...~>

Nice! What time in history was the most excited for you? I always liked the part around the ancient Rome. (Not specially Caesar, didn't knew that he was killed by his best friend) At least I'm still a noob but some things I've learned. Maybe I liked it because I used to grow up with it.

German hasn't the big history but the parts of Germany (Bundesländer, you know what I mean) have their history and tradition for over 1000 years. The first village where I lived is over 1600 years old (about 350 when I remember correctly)and has some old buildings from the Romans (they used them as the landmark after hundreds of years), the "survived" parts are saved as "world cultural heritage" by Unesco). Maybe that's why all are living and speaking different to each other
