Harvest Moon/Rune Factory

Want a hint when it comes to combat? Your attacks are as slow as a tank who tries to do a 180 degrees turn with his turret. I can attack an enemy with 4 hits from my sword. About 0,5 sec after my attack combo finishes I have to move out of my way or else the enemy will smack me in the face because of retarded recovery system. I apparently can't knock down foes as easily in RF2 as in RF3 either so that kinda sucks. I've only managed to knock them down with my hammer which got a slow attack speed and a slow recovery time to boot so if you miss with the attack you're 100% sure that the enemy will counterattack you before you even have a chance to move. And you can only do a single hit at a time with the hammer while you at least can do 2 hits with it in RF3 with a lower recovery time as well.

well just proves my theory, older games are harder haha

I guess that you can call it that if you prefer to do that. I would rather say unfair. Sure it puts more reason to eat food since I barely had to do that in RF3 until I met a specific boss which was kinda late in the game (I don't wanna spoil too much since you seem like you want to play it). But still... they shouldn't force you to eat food by screwing up the combat system for you. They should make you consume more food by making enemies harder while still allowing you to dodge the attacks. For example making them deal more damage or improving the AI in general.

yeah i can understand that, thats why i like RF tides of destiny, like you wont stuggle and you'll get so far but then it becomes harder and harder so you are more likely to eat and use medical pot's especially during the bosses later on they are a pain!! i think on average i'd have my method by the 3rd or 4th boss by my 7th try haha

I'm thinking about buying a 3DS and getting my Pokemon Y, Etrian Odyssey 4 and RF4 which I really want. RF4 seems promising though since I expect it to have the same if not better combat system than the 3rd game if even RF3s combat system can be improved in any way at all since it was awesome. I already see a girl that I might like in RF4 if I decide to buy it.

Well if you hate Rune Factory 2 Combat System, you're going to hate Rune Factory as much in that turn. It's actually harder than all the series combined. Had my sibling play it (she's bad at fighting games in general) and was able to complete Rune Factory 3 without too much trouble. It was built intuitively for players, especially for kids. No offense intended but in the older Rune Factory games, Rune Factory 1 has a lower recovery time than Rune Factory 2 and it breaks even for Rune Factory 3. Except all attacks must be done manually.

To top it off, Rune Factory 1 you will rely on food the most since the last boss can and will kill you faster than any bosses from Rune Factory 3 and 2 can deal with you. Assuming you're not going to remember the attack pattern of the boss and unable to deal with a handicap level based on the game and your max stats without medicine upgrades.

Rune Factory 4, I haven't bought it yet but I can say it's better since you have more things to do than Rune Factory 3 and also you are able to play as a girl for once.

Rune Factory 2 you can technically promise to marry someone as a Kid if you didn't know. You will still go through a mock wedding if you kid raises enough affection of the possible mock marriage candidate in the second generation.

All bosses in general should be making players do that especially in games like Tide of Destiny and Frontier for Rune Factory Games. Personally I never used any food or potions on my character for Rune Factory 3. I did however carry medicine to get out of status effects, especially if I don't have a cheap solution to get out of it. E.g. Antidote Herb to get out of poison. Rune Factory 2 and 1 on the other hand, I had to bring potions, cheap food and medicine to survive some boss battles. Especially if I'm doing a low level rush to complete the game.

HatoriTakaya;
I could probably try out Rune Factory 1 as well but I got a feeling that it would be as cheap as the 2nd one if not cheaper since you seem to say that it is. The combat system is bad. It's not impossible especially with food since you kinda can't avoid to take damage because of #1 recovery time ever.

The older games seems bad in general. RF2 had people who would say 2 different things every single day until you actually increased their FP/LP and that was extremely bad. I expected alot more from that. The best thing is that time stops in houses but that kinda also sucks in one way since I was done with everything I actually had to do even before Julia opened her bath (3 PM) so I usually just went to bed immediatly. I also hate the fact that they close their shops at 6 PM in RF2 while people go to sleep at 8 PM or something in RF3 without even closing their shops. Sure, it's unlogical irl but it makes stuff alot easier.

I also dislike the fact that farming was entirely useless in RF2 compared to RF3. I could gather minerals in all 4 dungeons during the morning on RF2 to get a steady income since farming the cheapest flowers I could buy with the low ammount of money I started with only gave me 5g or something everytime I sold a flower compared to how much the seeds cost. If I bought 3 seeds (9 patches of flowers) for 900g I could plant the flowers which took about 6 days or something to grow if not even more and I could sell all of them for a total of 945g. That's 45g profit for a 6 day farming and that's bullshit when I could earn 1500g - 2000g every day by mining in all 4 dungeons which took until 9 AM or something and the shops kinda opens at that time anyways if I remember right.
Is it even supposed to be a farming game/animal breeding game or is it something that I don't understand? I even lost cash by buying Turnip seeds and selling the flowers back which grew in 4 days.
RF3 got the basic flowers what they're called... which grows in 2 days and gives 3 times the money that a seed costs. Sure, that might be too much. If a seed costs 60g you could sell it for 180g and earn 120g. 120g would've been enough to sell it for to earn 60g for every flower since 60g is 200% of the seed price while 5g out of 900g is about... *too lazy to count* alot lower than that at least. Not even 1% to be honest.

I want a 3DS as well but we'll see if I buy one. RF4 seems more promising than RF1 and RF2 at least if they use RF3 as the main idéa.

Hinode: Don't get me wrong, but I enjoyed my time playing each Rune Factory Series. Be it on virtual or even physically. I don't find the developer methods of making combat system bad or the system of income for those games. Probably due to my tastes, I don't like stale conditions in games since it makes things too predictable for me to take advantage of easily.

Rune Factory 1 combat system has almost no lag time after you completed your entire combo. All attacks must be controlled manually and you will not be able to turn or change direction once you start the combo. There's no skill books except magic and you can die in the game while in the dungeon. I believe it's the same for Rune Factory 2 as well, when you run out of stamina. Rune Factory 1, your allocated RP is limited to exactly 100 points, meaning crops is absolutely required to progress in some dungeons. Assuming you don't have any food or medicine with you. However, it's not entirely impossible to complete a dungeon without having crops to produce Runes to recover RP or have no food and medicine to clear the dungeon and boss.

Well... I never relied on using the entire combo for any weapons due to the fact you'll take retaliatory damage if you do for all bosses. Usually for all versions of Rune Factory, I learn to stop the combo just before it reaches the lag time to recover to ensure I'm always mobile in fights and avoid damage. Unless I know I'm screwed due to a status been inflicted on my character. If that is the case, I just go in and deal as much DPS at the boss to end the fight quickly and hopefully level up to recover all my HP. Then seek a way to survive and live for another day in game.

Rune Factory 2, crops are meaningless until you get a seed producer that will grind those crops to level 10 and sell for more marginal profits. Otherwise I use them as a way to recover Rune Points while in Dungeons. You should always rely on mining, foraging, produce and fishing to make most of your profit at the start for most Rune Factory games. It's only later, your crop becomes most convenient to make income from when it is stable to do so. With that said, there is some monsters that can water your crops while you're out. At the start they're crap but later on they're quite useful.

Once you get Seed Maker, however, you can grind level 10 crops to seeds and sell it for profit. Especially regrowth crops, which will make you infinite amount of money once you get started. That's how I took advantage of all seasons for farming games for Harvest Moon and Rune Factory. Just keep that in mind, it rarely changes from my experience so far. Exclude Rune Factory Frontier where you have to manage the health of the fields by move Elemental Spirits to grow crops in good to excellent condition.

Conversation wise, all Rune Factory games and Harvest Moon Games are like that in terms of what they may say at any given time. Same goes for most RPG unfortunately that I have played and seen. Time stopping in Rune Factory 1 was always convenient when you know how to abuse the system to advance your skills in particular areas in the right conditions.

zad38: Yeah 3DS is expensive but the price is dropping at least. With that said, I have liabilities to pay and most my income goes to things that must be paid. Those who have parents paying for all their essentials are certainly privileged in a sense.

i dont need to pay rent or food, but my money is often used, and im not aloud to touch my money so... even if i wanted one i cant get it >.<

HatoriTakaya; I really wanted to try out RF1 but I tried 2 different downloads and both stopped working after I skipped the opening video (emulator screen got white) so I skipped that game and restarted RF3 again. RF2 got HP drain when you run out of stamina if I remember right just like RF3. I've never run out of stamina in that game and using weapons in RF2 decreased the RP cost for using those specific weapons as well. So RF1 got no "weapon mastery" or what to call it to lvl up? So it will always cost the same ammount of RP? I found it funny that you could waste the rest of your RP after mining to just smack the hammer into the ground to get hammer skill up and then just go to Julia and continue smacking that hammer into the ground for 100 RP or what it is. I think you get like +5 RP per lvl up but I'm not sure...

I've played through RF2 until I got married and I still don't have the Seed thingy and it's probably a "child only" item. It still feels disturbing that the woman you marry only is a way to get a mother since you have no reason not to get a child as quickly as possible unless you wanna see all the weddings that might take about 4 in-game years or something...

RF3 is better in my opinion but it could improve a bit on difficulty. I've had giants 1 hit me with their stomp/jump attack or what it is but I don't remember if I was low lvled or not. I found it pretty annoying but not really hard since they were defenseless when you started to combo them. They could've added something along the same thing in elsword. That they get stoic or become immune to damage for a while after a certain number of hits so they at least have a chance to counterattack.

zad38: Guess each one to their own in terms of how money is spent. Personally, I accountable for the entire liabilities, expenses and other things I don't mention. So practically everything I purchase actually be checked out as green or it will be rejected without a second thought. This is called budgeting for your life.

Hinode: Rune Factory 1 has weapon masteries from what I can recall as well and will use your stamina when you use farming tool and weapon where you have no RP left. Although I liked RP for the HP recovery and status recovery where I need it. It operates at the same level as Rune Factory 2 but it's easier in income and has a lower Recovery time for certain weapons. You can basically run through the game with only short sword with different forms of it and be fine. Except one or two bosses where you will need magic to target it or you're pretty much screwed and waiting to die. But I'm pretty sure your RP pool doesn't get bigger in Rune Factory 1 where Rune Factory 2 and so on will continue to grow. I have to check on Rune Factory 2 for this case since I don't remember it clearly.

Marriages in Rune Factory 2 has a time limit. Let me repeat, they have a time limit where if you don't marry them in time, someone else will pick them up and marry them, even if you don't attend their wedding. Cecilia is a good example where she gets married in Year 2 or something around that time. So keep that in mind. I guess it can disorientate players that you can't get all your stuff in first generation but that's how the game system works out to be. That's why I don't rely on seeds at the start and just grew accustomed to making income on other methods mentioned in the long post before.

Keep in mind though that all Rune Factory games were made for young teens so if it seems too easy, it's probably harder for them to understand the concept of evading attacks manually. If they added temporary immunity, which actually they did for Rune Factory 1 when the bosses change their pattern of attack and move to next stage, some people find it slightly too challenging to complete unless they're well prepared. This brings back the point on why I liked Rune Factory 1, bosses have much more difficult attack patterns that you will deal with. Like you can only hit the boss if you have magic due to all weapon ranges can not hit it, bosses moves around the screen quickly and you got to be at the right place to deal damage, bosses attack off-screen for a while and you have no choice but to evade, etc. Pretty classic but it's actually better in that department of difficulty. Heck, if you don't deal with some bosses quickly, you will run out of HP pretty soon due to their ranges of attacks and a few that can summon monsters to attack you as well.

And... my Rune Factory 1 game went down... I'm going to see if I can bring it back to life or something... I had a rush mode gaming for that one and it was pretty awesome that I could finish half of the dungeons, have my house expanded and all my essential items before Summer Ended. Can't access a dungeon due to the requirement it must be winter to get in the lake Dungeon.

yeah, im living with my mum so i dont need to bother, however, i do plan to pay my own when i move out, gonna be hard though with how expensive things are and how hard it is to get a job now-a-days

zad38: My advice to you is to stay with your family if they are willing to put up with your expenses while you look for work and gain more experience in the work force. You can contribute to paying small bills and expenses until you're used to working with a Budget. Just a life tip for the young and those who haven't got used to paying liabilities and expenses.

Putting that aside, I lost progress on my Rune Factory 1 game. Well... it was fun while it lasted. Game is not corrupted and possibly the cartridge is too old as well.

thats the plan sponge out all i can, not wise moving out right now

Well the economy for most countries is getting harder; not easier from what I can tell. So you better save up as much as you can I guess and spend it on essential things. Well that's if you are paying all the liabilities and stuff. But really, just take advantage of getting some casual to some sort of experience in working.

Sometimes I feel Harvest Moon SNES was one of the better classic in the game. Even though it's hard as heck to keep your farm running while you please everyone. Especially your wife who expects you in bed with her before 6 PM once you get married.

HatoriTakaya; The farming in RF1 sounds better than in RF2. Makes me sad that I couldn't get the game to work :sigh:
It would've been worth a try though and I like bosses that changes patterns *directs to Touhou*

I know, I didn't want Ceci to marry the annoying elf guy (Jake?). It still kinda sucks that I have to play as the child... I'm not good with games which changes main characters. You get stuck with a char and starts to like playing as him/her and then they give you an entirely new character...
I won't play RF2 again if I ever finish it. RF3 was awesome and is still awesome *replays it right now*.

Sounds like a fun boss in that case since I like challenges. Makes me even more sad that my RF1 doesn't work lol. The combat system is important though. I honestly don't care if there's autoaim or not since I never use it in RF3. I always push a directional button towards the way I want to attack and then I attack towards that side so I can miss as well. I hope that RF4 will have an awesome combat system though.

Hmm, requirements?... I thought all dungeons had different seasons or didn't that exist in RF1? Good luck with reviving it :3 You can always buy a new one I believe? As long as they're still being sold :/

EDIT: I found a quick way to make cash. Plant 6 9x9 squares of Pink Turnips (seeds cost 80g each) and then use them to prepare some Pickled Turnips and sell those for 480g each. That will give you a steady income of 25920g (21600g after buying the seeds again) every third day.

Hinode: Yeah I know what you mean. I'm pretty sure RF 2 and 3 had that too... just in more simple form. RF 1 on the other hand does actually change the pattern. And if they don't, they are steadily increasing damage output or moving faster toward you. I'm biased though since I really like the first series of Rune Factory when everyone thought it wasn't that good until they tried it. Same as Harvest Moon SNES, first version release.

Everyone to their own for game series where you change main characters. In Harvest Moon series, there's a one installment where your main character will age and die. Then your next generation takes over to continue your legacy. If you ask me, I found it interesting to say the least. I still would finish it, if you bought it. I still like Rune Factory 3 on the other hand for its awesome partner AI System. RF 1 and 2, your monster was the only ones who help you fight in dungeons.

Rune Factory is most challenging in the way where your HP will grow and max at level 99 or 100. Your RP doesn't level up from memory serves me. You have 4 potion bottles, like Zelda or Megaman Series, where you can use it to recover your HP. The only other way to recover HP is to eat food or use medical supplies you carry in your rucksack. Bosses can and will kill you if you don't recognize their pattern fast enough when doing a low level rush. All attacks are manual input and combat is bit better than RF 2. There are a few puzzles where you must complete or solve in order to advance. Yeah, I'm biased. I really think I am for this RF 1 installment.

Since you haven't played RF 1 yet, there's one dungeon that requires you to wait till Winter comes by to freeze certain parts of the area to gain access to the dungeons. You're correct that all RF dungeons have their own seasons. Just there's this one dungeon that has a awkward requirement of In-game waiting which made it interesting. Meaning for this particular Dungeon, you had 30 Days In-game to solve and complete or you have to wait for another year. Worse case scenario and you forget to carry the proper spells with you, you're stuck in that dungeon for three whole seasons. Isn't that fantastic? Probably the main reason why the developers, designer and producer changed the game easier to leave places so people don't have to start over if they screw up.

Nice find. Yeah there's a tendency in RF series where fresh produces makes crap amount of money. If you cook it on the other hand, it tends to exponentially increase the value of items used. Especially if you have high cooking skills to make level 10 dishes. Try it on Lover Snapper and Sunshine Squid for RF 3 and RF 2 is any single ingredient dishes will do the same. At most cases that is. RF 2 pudding, pickles and a few other dishes makes a ton of income if you do it right.

HatoriTakaya; The only boss who change patterns in RF3 would be the 1st and 4th bosses. I find the 2nd boss the funniest atm since he got a rather unique way of killing him. Btw, I'm playing on Hard difficulty which I forgot so an enemy who shot homing wind magic things 1 shotted me in the beginning of this run of RF3. I've beaten the 1st dungeon and just started with the 2nd and I'm lvl 10 so I have to lvl up quite a bit. I'm thinking about using magic a bit in this run compared to my previous run. I also tamed 2 Buffamoos or what they're called. They produce a small milk each every day so as long as I have Yellow Grass in my farm I can mix it to Medium Cheese which gives 75% RP back if you eat it. I don't have to pay anything either so that's awesome.

The most disturbing thing with that is that you get married and then your next goal is to create a school for your kid. It feels like your wife is a tool instead of a person in RF2 because of that. RF3 is kinda sad as well regarding marriage since that's the last thing you do in the entire game. They could've made the same as in RF2 that they block certain important parts in dungeons until you get married.

Hmm, we'll see if I can find a working RF1 sometime. The thing I actually like with RF3 is the special skills which is awesome. Special skills can easily activate even after you stop attacking so you can use it as a way to get away or to dodge and stuff. I personally love the special skill for mace/axe which spins you around for about 9 times (I think?) depending on how many times you press the skill button. It had HUGE AoE and you could move at walk speed (not run speed) while spinning. I also like to use Gust (the D. Blades skill) to escape from the boss/enemies when they do their attacks or when I finish my own combo. It's extremely useful. The only skill I had in RF2 was the shitty Power Wave skill or what it's called with the shortsword and it was useless. I couldn't find any other skills either.

It kinda sucks that the dungeon is winter only and that you'll end up getting stuck if you're unlucky. They shouldn't make it retarded like that but I still think that they could make the game a bit harder. I have to admit though, I think the game isn't meant to be hard as hell since it's mainly a farming game and the dungeons is a bonus (hence the "A fantasy Harvest Moon" part in it's title). I never ever use spells myself except for Cure spells in some cases when I take alot of damage but got much RP left and don't feel like wasting my food. I like the season thingy even though it's a bit confusing at some points :/

Yeah, I have 54 Pink Turnips planted now so I'm gonna get loads of cash in some days. It's strange that you earn more money from preparing it since preparing it gives you a bonus in cooking skill for doing so as well.I haven't gotten that far yet to get that squid and the snapper xD I hate that the lvls the fish have is random. It takes up loads of place in my fridge. The mushrooms are awesome as well as long as you have some anti-poison spell with you. Hmm, high cooking lvl? Isn't high lvled dishes made out of the cooking material? For example that a lvl 3 Pink Turnip will become a lvl 3 Pickled Turnip? That's what I've noticed though :/ I have to fish more though, I'm thinking about going for Carmen in this run. I like her energetic personality and all the other girls seems kinda strange except for Sakuya, but I grabbed her in my previous run.

EDIT: Nvm, I realized now that my lvl 5 Pink Turnips became lvl 6 Pickled Turnips xD

EDIT 2: Summer comes and I need another way to get income. I think "Ketchup sells for alot (1600g something) so I can plant some Tomatoes and Onions!" The game says "Bullshit, you're going down!" and suddenly I get a storm 2 days in a row which forces me to replant 8 out of 9 Grass (Buffamoo food), 27 out of 54 Tomatoes and 18 out of 36 Onions. I barely had enough cash for it since I only had 75g left after I replanted it all. I could've accepted 1 storm, but 2 in a row? Just what the fuck?

Hinode: I know right? Each replay will have you find more things that you kinda missed. I mean, the recent replay of RF 3, I didn't know that you can level all status traits through Steel Sword. I didn't notice it existed till I used it for a long period of time. I actually went to other dungeons to recruit produce making animals fairly early in the game since you're allowed to do that. In Rune Factory 1, you not allowed to go to another dungeon unless it's unlocked for you. If memory serves me well that is.

Well, you know... it was up to the script/plot maker to decide how a game should be like at the development stages and it has to go through the other channels. But yeah, for a lot of people they didn't agree with the idea of your wife being a tool to have your child before your first generation main character leave for some reason. If you spent time finishing the game, you will learn the truth why he left and why you ended up completing the game without your father for eight or so years. On the other hand, I don't think they would of recycled the plot for RF 3 to unlock certain events. Well they kinda did but at least it was only one dungeon away when you did it.

The thing about Rune Factory 1 is that there is no skill books. So most of the skills is based on the weapon you're holding at the time to use RP to active these skills. You do however have magic books that you can use. So it's like a traditional RPG game in a sense. There's a lot of handicaps placed on you since it was the first game released for Rune Factory. Got to love how it was difficult for a lot of players who went from Rune Factory 3 or 2 to Rune Factory 1.

I didn't find it retarded since it actually measures how well you planned things out. You probably didn't know that Rune Factory 1 uses a camping system. This is where you can camp inside the dungeon so you can pick up the pace the next days onwards. That's right, it's awesome in that aspect and you can actually level that skill up to increase HP and RP recovered every time you camp out. Seasons can be confusing but it's pretty convenient in other times where you want to grow something that is out of season on your own fields.

Well the thing about cooking is that I actually prepared a level 1 fist into a level 10 fish dish. At the time of typing this, I already have my cooking skill at level 99. So levels is a major factor in determining your final level of your cooking dish along with the ingredients. Yeah I know what you mean with Carmen, she's pretty interesting in her own right. Not eccentric as Daria though, where she's all about the rainbows in the world. Got to love that Rainbow BGM when you do Sakaya's Tour Guide around the locations for future tourists.

Haha... it happens a lot at certain dates if you didn't noticed. I took over four storms in the first summer. You'll actually get a snow storm, blizzard, in winter too. So take note of that. I spent most of my time finding ways to level up my crops faster and I'm pretty sure I found an interesting way to cut down the time for RF3 in particular. Never noticed it until I tried it. Got Level 10 crops with 3 to 9 times less effort with the method I'm testing now. Probably going to try it in the next run through.

HatoriTakaya; Status traits? I didn't know that Tomatoes gave loads of those rune thingies which increases your stats and skill lvls. I'm running around with Defender (Shortsword) because of speed and I used a spear earlier to increase spear mastery a bit for free max RP increase and stuff. I still prefer longswords though because of the spin attack where you move slowly but spin 9 times and deal retarded AoE damage. It all depends on if you can stunlock the enemy or not. I tamed a Titan which I named Will and I ride on him around the town lol. It looks so damn ugly x'D

I actually spoiled the ending of RF2 since I felt like I wouldn't play it by watching a youtube video. I found it funny that the only thing a guy did on the final boss was to spam Cure and the rapid thrust skill with the spear. He also used some kind of claw looking weapon at the end. I guess that you can make it harder for you if you feel like it, but still... I will always hate the combat in RF2. There's many things that I don't like with RF2 compared to RF3. For example that people change between 2 dialogues in every stage of FP/LP and it doesn't even change if you skip to the next day. Stores open at 9 AM so it's kinda annoying if you wanna finish an errand instantly in the morning (this actually exist a bit in RF3 but that's only when Sofia decides to sleep until 9 AM...). I also dislike the time stop in houses since the bath opens at 3 PM. So in the beginning of the game there's alot of waiting until you can speak with Julia. At least for me since I didn't see the point of farming. Some festivals was pretty sad as well... spam the A button to take a bite? Really? RF3 got the thing where you run around with 3 other NPCs and grab dishes and then eat them and the one with the highest score wins. I can't see anything better with RF2 compared to RF3 and I'm not joking. Or... I guess that mining was a bit better since you had an easy time to go to all 4 dungeons and mine without risking to die from a single hit. The ore also sold for more cash compared to RF3 if I remember right.
I could play RF2 for your sake to see if it really is as horrible as it seems. I haven't reached the 2nd generation yet so that could be why. But I probably won't have fun while doing it so it will feel like a waste of time.

Magic books huh... they usually suck though :/ For some reason it feels like RF1 is easier than RF2. The way you said that combat is better in RF1 simply proves that. I guess that I can try some more to get RF1 to work. I'm gonna go for Ceci and increase her FP to max before I give a girl a single gift.

Yeah, I kinda expected the camping part since RF2 also had Tents that you could buy from Mana. I wonder why they removed it from RF3 :/ Seasons are kinda meh. It's annoying to run to every single dungeon to water stuff just because you can farm there...

Cooking breaks logic xD Hmm, you really like to cook. I usually lvl it up to about lvl 50 before I'm finished with the game since I don't make the harder dishes. I prefer the simple ones which gives you a nice ammount of HP and RP back. I'll go for either Carmen or Sofia. Probably Carmen since I still dislike Sofia's reverse speaking. I usually forget about Daria since she lives in the forest lol. So I kinda never speak with her myself x'D I don't think I've heard that BGM yet :/

Yeah, I think I also had a total of 4 storms. But the 2 in a row did the truckload of damage compared to the other 2 small storms... But those 2 small storms was in the end of the summer so I thought "Whatever, I'll be planting fall crops soon anyways so I'll live on the rest of my Tomatoes and 60000g that I have". The 2 in a row was on 10th and 11th summer so basically right before my Tomato crops were going to give me some profit for those 10+ days of growth time...
Don't make it too easy or else it won't be fun at all :/

Hinode: Well when you go into the Skills Screen, you can scroll down to see things like Poison Resists and so forth. That's what I meant by status traits. Just ended up clumping it all together since I not the type of person who remember the minute details of these things. Even though I may have replayed the game a few times. Well I ended up leveling all my skills just for the free stats it provides. I use it in combination with a accessory that helps increase the skills at a faster rate. Well a tamed titan named Will... when I think about it, I basically never tamed any monsters except the useful ones that actually help progress my farming while I'm out.

Well it certainly comes down to preference and I guess needless to say... you know what the ending for Rune Factory 2 is. Yeah people can use that tactic of out DPS the boss before you die. It's not a bad tactic but if you were to play games like Ys Series and so forth. You're not going to live long enough to kill any bosses and monsters. That's just me though. Rune Factory 1 is similar in regards to time stopping when you're in a building so if you hate that, you'll also hate how you have so much time on your hands in Rune Factory 1. Most Harvest Moon series are like that too so I don't hold against it in a sense.

Well most magic sucks unless you want to be a magician that runs around shooting magic. Note that you don't get all your magic abilities in RF2 first generation. So you're bound to hate it anyway. Rune Factory 1 its actually pretty important to know how to use your spells or at least unleash the hidden ability in the weapon to kill certain bosses. Unless you want to be stuck in a dungeon fight without a solution to end it.

Yeah it breaks logic but it's like that in real life too in a sense. Just to not that extreme. I liked cooking since I always would have nothing better to do after a day in game and potentially just make more money by doing certain recipes to gain a massive advantage. Sofia is Tsundere if you listen the Japanese counterpart and read a bit of the text. Well I think she is in a sense. Well the Daria thing is more like if you actually pay attention to details of the sound, you will hear her shout RAINBOW!!! while completing the quest related to Sakaya Tour around the famous spots in Sharance Village.

Storms are storms... it's always bad news and actually can get worse if you're super unlucky where you have your entire fields destroyed across all dungeons and your own personal field... with the expensive crops that takes a long time to grow. Especially if you get super unlucky and got your golden cabbage destroyed during that season. Agreed on the opinion that games shouldn't make it too easy.

Hmm, haven't played any Harvest Moon game though. Probably since I don't like to only farm and want some action into it. And yeah, I know very well that it will be released this spring. Since I've told T-ELOS about 5 times how much nintendo suck I guess you can understand that I'm desperate for that game while nintendo just spit at me.
