Hahaha well at least you have the right ideas of what it's like, overall it's a lot more fun if you're prepared, I think culture shock is what ruins the experience for many foreigners.
Although, I am a bit worried about the racism vs other asians. I'm korean you see, and I keep hearing things from some friends who live there about it. What's your take? But then again, when I visited, I didn't notice it much. And really when it comes down to it, I guess I don't care much either. I keep my emotions inside in the first place.

Thanks Kacta - luckily I haven't really experienced racism personally but definately witnessed it, especially when people with Korean heritage is involved.
When I get home I'll definately go into more detail, I've talked about it a little before about far right racist nationalists but I'm sure there's much more antifa Japanese than there are racist ones. It also partly has to do with the behaviour of some foreigners making a bad impression too though. I'll see what I can talk about when I'm on the PC (^v^)
If I ever have the opportunity to venture to Japan, I wouldn't think TWICE about the chance just to have the EXPERIENCE...
From what I have read, it is one of the safest places in the world to visit. The culture itself from what I have witnessed on youtube, is just a delight to behold. The Japanese are some of the most industrious and intelligent people on the planet ( There's something to be said, for having such a POWERFUL economy, with a COUNTRY only the size of California )
From the technology, to the tradition, to the common courtesy they seem to exude.....
*Sigh* honestly speaking, if it were possible to learn the language and I had the cash. I might even try living there for a while.
If I recall... most ride the trains... due to its convenience. (You know... there's an anime about those subways except they appear human... bishies...) ^^
Yup trains are probably the most convenient method of transport in most areas of Japan! Though of course in some other cities like Kyoto it's a lot more common to use the bus, or for example Hiroshima is famour for the very good tram lines.
Hmm being on time xD Im usually a minute or so late to everything :x So much for living there... but actually... my friends are much later than meh usually =.= Is the traffic is japan bad or the train/metro just faster?
I just started reading and im at the part how to properly sit down. Aiya.... holy crap xD i have i guess.... people say i have massive calf muscle and it doesnt help at all xD. Ill finish it later though :3 great read.
I tryed Ramen for the first time this year. I was so hyped about it. It was...... Okay i guess. It was from a restaurant called Wagamama in Boston. was kinda disappointed
Ramen is considered fast food, so really its nothing to fancy - it's really cheap! Salarymen and students go to ramen fast food shops (literally in those where you stand) to grab a quick and cheap meal that still fills you up, so it's not so surprising that it doesn't taste too good. However perhaps it should taste better in Japan for some reason!
d'oh! ishikawa... i remember using train there need to circlying around first! but it's an old and very nice place! and the fish in there are yummy since they're fresh from the sea
Yes Kanazawa is beautiful.. Lots of Samurai history, and beautiful Kenrokuen garden..! Lovely population, the people were really friendly. It felt like quite a small city but with quite a lot of people - really pleasant atmosphere!
The experience alone is worth it, but please when you do don't regret it! Haha there are lots of foreigners who regret moving to Japan, or dislike living in Japan - but let me tell you if you're prepared to accept the fact that you will have to change a large proportion of yourself; the experience is definately worth it.
Haha yeah! I'm still not sure how I got it but okay
And thanks, although I'm not really looking to putting in such personal stories in this chat, but if it's necessary or helpful at some point I might do! (*^∀^*)
Oh, and I've done Kendo and Kyudo for a few years but stopped because it started to punish my body quite seriously hehe

Wait, if it's already few years Kendo should be fine, the first 2-3 months are the painful times...
Don't tell me that you did both of them at the same time.... If that's the case then it's normal if your body starting to get punished...
Aside from Kanazawa you mean? hehe
Yes I have travelled to many places in Japan, just not Hokkaido and Shikoku and some other places. I have been to Okinawa only last year, it was amazing!
and I have lived in Meguro area in Tokyo as I said before (ゝ∀・)
ah yes, you've lived in meguro... i forgot that part! lol...
i've lived mostly in Chichibu... but i also likes traveling... using night train from east to west and viceversa... sometimes i stopped at some abandoned station and stays in the nearest villages...
i love travelling alot! the scenery in japan are comparable to those in the alpen in europe
Ah I like travelling in Japan too, I did hiking a lot with my uncle (´^ω^)
Oh, and thank you about reminding me about law, legal terms are very tricky in Japanese - I have found a dictionary on some legal terms. it's absolutely huge!
Sorry I don't have much experience with that, as I've said before I am writing it as a child, so I didn't have to worry about it as much as my parents did, though if someone does, please go ahead (*-ω人)

Mentioning the taxes there is a nice idea I think... I a bit curious now that you guys mention it...
And since I live with my uncle there, I don't know much about the taxing.... as well....
